About

Mohamed (Mo) F. Doheim

MD, PhD, FRCP  /  Clinical Research Assistant Professor of Neurology

I am a neuroscientist and Clinical Research Assistant Professor of Neurology at the UPMC Stroke Institute, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. My research integrates causal inference, machine learning, and clinical-trial design to advance individualized strategies in acute ischemic stroke.

I am Founding Co-Director of NeuroPrecision Lab and CEO of HORUS NeuroTechnologies, a Pitt-licensed startup building clinical decision-support systems for acute neurological disorders. My doctoral thesis at Maastricht University, “Beyond One-Size-Fits-All in Acute Ischemic Stroke: From Data-Driven Approaches to Personalized Clinical Decision-Making”, anchors this work in counterfactual modeling.

I have contributed to 180+ publications (≈5,000 citations; h-index 20+) in The Lancet, Annals of Neurology, JAMA Neurology, Neurology, and Stroke, and hold two provisional patents plus copyrighted clinical decision-support tools.
